Thanks to strong conservation efforts, the population of white southern rhinos has been brought back from the edge of extinction and continues to grow. The Monarto Zoo in southern Australia is the largest open range zoo in the country and it protects its rhinos from poachers that are after their horns, which can sell for about $300,000 for just one. Humans are the rhinos’ biggest predator.
